Oxbow Reflections is a new series showcasing the work of leading scholars in the archaeology and history of Britain and Europe. In each volume, a selection of papers previously published in Oxbow titles is re-presented in an easily accessible, affordable format, providing access to key contributions by eminent authors.
These collections offer insights into the development of ideas and individual thought over the last four decades of our publishing history, reminding us of the achievements of some of Europe’s best-known researchers.
The papers included not only introduced influential ideas and interpretations but demonstrated how new paradigms, technologies and scientific techniques helped shape archaeological theory and practice. It is hoped that by presenting the evolving and changing thought-histories of the authors, a new audience of readers will be reached and the authors’ continuing influence on the discipline recognised.
Oxbow Books is privilaged to have been at the forefront of publishing exemplary scholarship to a wide audience for over 40 years. Reflections is a celebration of the work of some of our most important and influential authors but also of our own contribution in presenting their work to the academic world and beyond.
