Visual literacy is a set of competencies a human being can develop by seeing and, at the same time, having and integrating other sensory experiences. Through the creative use of these competencies, which are addressed in the different chapters of this book, humans can communicate with others, comprehend, and enjoy the masterworks of the visual and performing arts.
