It’s December 1944 and, knowing they wouldn’t be home for Christmas, a handful of battle-weary GIs decide to throw a holiday party for the children of Wiltz, Luxembourg. Ten days later, the town is all but destroyed during the Battle of the Bulge but, in the years that followed, Wiltz never forgot the kindness and generosity of those soldiers on that special St Nicolas Day. For thirty years the people of Wiltz searched for those soldiers, and especially the American St Nicolas, in the hope of bringing them back once again.
