Laurel Hill East Cemetery is a National Historic Landmark in Philadelphia. It was founded in 1836 and is final resting place for thousands of people who made a difference in the city and the nation. Laurel Hill West was founded in 1869 across the Schuylkill River in Bala Cynwyd; it has a population and history of its own.
