The aim of this bibliography is to provide a chronological survey of 19th- and 20th-century (with a cut-off point of 1995) editions and criticism of Middle English lyrics and short poems. The poems, which include some Middle Scots works, predominantly date from 1100 to 1500. The entries are preceded by a discussion of the lyrics and trends in crtiticism and are followed by extensive indices of scholars, critics and first lines.
