During 1944, writer Marcelle Fauchier-Delavigne was at the priory of Saint-Gabriel, in Calvados, and between June and August of that year wrote an account of the events as she experienced them, including the landing of the Allied troops. Her granddaughter Claudie has compiled her writings in this volume.
